We raised about £1800 for Five Talents - thank-you to everyone who sponsored us!

We thought for quite a while about who to raise money for. We wanted it to be for people in a poorer country than the UK, and also wanted to be able to know it would be going to a specific project rather than into a general pool. Also, we really wanted to support something that would enable a few people to stand on their own two feet for a long period of time, rather than it being just short term aid. We knew Tom Sanderson before he left to work in Uganda for five years. He has now returned to work with Five Talents in the UK, which gives small loans to help people start and expand small businesses in Africa and elsewhere. He has seen it work and we are impressed with the results. We specifically want any money raised to go to the Five Talents project in Kabale, Uganda.
