Comments from Paul Martin:
Purchased by the Trinder family in 1984 and restored lovingly to its former glory, the Bingham Hotel dates in part from 1740. On entering, the visitor is drawn through high-ceilinged rooms with ornate cornices, typical of a Grade II listed Georgian building and into the gracious Walpole Restaurant with its glorious views across gardens down to the Thames. Under the direction of chef Pierre Denoyer, whose exquisite recipes have already been featured in Eden magazine, the Walpole is considered a charming, undiscovered gem by local residents. The Bingham Hotel comprises 23 individually decorated bedrooms, some with four-posters, most with views of the Thames.

The Bingham is primarily a suitable venue for small events and provides a great location for memorable wedding photography. I recently photographed a summer wedding at the Bingham (60 guests). The civil ceremony took place in a room on the lower floor, opening up to a terrace in the hotel’s private garden. What I found particularly appealing here was that I was able to capture informal and unobtrusive photographs with natural light, of proceedings through the French doors. A harpist played beautiful music on the terrace, and the guests were entertained in the gardens for a champagne reception shortly afterwards. Here again, I captured many unobtrusive wedding photographs of bride and groom mingling with guests. Subsequently, I underook several group photo requests, followed by an exclusive shoot of the bride and groom, mainly taken along the Thames toe path between the hotel and Richmond Bridge. Here I was able to capture some very artistic photographs that vividly conveyed the unique aspects of this Richmond location. Moreover, I was able to provide the Bridal couple with treasured memories of their wedding day.

The dinner reception followed in the dining room one floor up, overlooking the garden. Here agian, I was able to produce more informal photographs in natural light, as the late evening sunlight swept in to the room. An evening reception and disco followed. I have no hesitation in recommending The Bingham Hotel as fantastic wedding venue.

Paul Martin is an Ealing based photographer, situated within easy access of the Bingham Hotel. I have a complete portfolio of the above-mentioned wedding and, am happy to meet with all prospective clients at the venue, and to do a pre-wedding shoot in the surroundings.
