Comments from Paul Martin:

I recently enjoyed the unique opportunity of photographing a wedding reception and dinner at the Bleeding Heart. This was my second visit here following a wedding ceremony at St. Etheldreda’s Church.

Bleeding Heart Restaurant is now available for weddings on an exclusive-use basis at weekends. With an outside area for drinks and a separate room for dancing, they can cater in style for up to 150 guests in simply stunning surroundings. Famed for an “immaculate” service and superb food, Bleeding Heart can arrange everything for your wedding day from personalised menus, flowers and music, and ensure it is a truly memorable occasion.
,br>Bleeding Heart is a characterful French Restuarant. The reception lounge/ bar is on the ground floor, where photographing informal photo’s of guests mingling is relatively straighforward. The dining lounge is below in a characterful and cosy situation. However, the ceiling is very low pitch (under 8 feet), and coupled with the dark decor and no natural light, presents a few technical challenges for photography. In the circumsatnces, I would recommend 400 iso (speed) to photographers, coupled with very slow shutter speed, so as to allow as much ambient light to record. The flight of starirs leading down to the restuarant provides a useful area for creative portraiture.

Although a technically challenging environment in which to photograph, I have enjoyed photographing at Bleeding Heart. I look forward to photographing furture events at this charaterful restaurant in the summer!
