Comments from Paul Martin:
Butchers’ Hall is a great place for conferences and meetings. It’s one of the most elegant of the City Livery Halls. The ancient Guild of Butchers’ have written evidence of its existence dating back to 975AD and is still closely associated with the meat industry.

The building itself is discreetly postwar. Interior decor is elegant and rich in the traditional associations, atmosphere and character of one of London’s seven oldest livery companies.

I enjoyed the opportunity of photographing a wedding reception dinner at this beautiful venue. The building is lettered with many fine paintings and ornate features giving testimony to its assocation with the livery trade. In particular, the great hall has some beautiful stained glass windows depicting livestock and market scenes, and is the designated room for wedding meals.

From a photography perspective, there are good situations to record memorable wedding photographs with a distinctive appearance.
