Comments from Paul Martin:

Gurdwara Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha (UK) is one of several Sikh Temples situated in Hounslow, Middlesex.

I enjoyed the unique opportunity of photographing a sikh wedding ceremony at Gurdwara Guru Nanak Nishkam Sewak Jatha. As I have come to experience with Sikh & Indian weddings, this event was characterised by an abundance of vibrant colour!. Hence, black & white coverage was minimal on this occassion!

I was able to produce many non-intrusive photographs of the ceremony. Outdoors, the entire area is a surfaced car park. There is no garden area; hence the my low star rating. Never the less, I was able to find some suitable uncluttered backgrounds. However, I would recommend that groups photographs are preferably taken at another location, or local park.

After this ceremony, the bridal couple and guests moved on to the Haveli Banqueting Suite in Slough. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed photographing proceedings, and was able to produce a mixture of informal reportage images, along with compositions of artistic flair of this traditional sikh wedding.
