Comments from Paul Martin:
In splendid grounds beside Hampstead Heath, Kenwood, an outstanding neoclassical house, contains one of the most important collections of paintings ever given to the nation, with works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Gainsborough and Reynolds. The house was remodelled by Robert Adam between 1764 and 1773, when he transformed the original brick house into a majestic villa for the great judge, Lord Mansfield. Adam’s richly decorated library is one of his masterpieces and English Heritage has restored his original colour scheme in the Entrance Hall.

The interiors were designed to impress the cream of 18th Century society and provides an impressive setting for weddings receptions and dinners. Receptions for up to 300 guests are offered throughout the ground floor rooms, while dinner and dancing for up to 120 guests may be enjoyed in the Orangery Suite. For more intimate soirees, the dining room with its collection of Old Masters is ideal for dinners up to 50 guests, with reception drinks served in the breathtaking Adam Library.

Needless to say, the photographic prospects are excellent at Kenwood House. With its ornate features, the house provides a beautiful background; the surrounding 112 acres of splendid gardens, with a diverse range of flowering plants offers great good photo opportunities. Kenwood House and Hampstead Heath has the distinct feel of a rural stately home; This is quite remarkable when one considers that it is only a mere 5 miles from central London. Needless to say, Kenwood House is fantastic wedding venue, and without doubt, the best location you could choose in Hampstead.
