Comments from Paul Martin:
The Law Society’s hall offers you the opportunity to make your wedding day truly unique. The domed splendour of the Reading Room, with its wrought iron balconies and subdued colours, lends itself perfectly to a civil ceremony, before Champagne and canapés in the modern Brasserie. Follow this with dinner and dancing in the stunning Common Room with its 18th century marble pillars, stained glass windows and sumptuous dark woods. From the planning stages through to the day itself, their dedicated team will offer advice and guidance on every aspect of your wedding leaving you to relax and enjoy yourselves.

From a photography perspective, the Law Society has alot to offer as a wedding venue. As decribed above, 18th century features throughout the rooms – marble pillars, stained glass windows, wrought iron balconies, oak panelling provides a great atmosphere and backdrop. Throughout my largely documentary portrayal of a Jewish Ceremony, I was able to produce some memorable creative phphotographs of bride and groom at various locations; the foot of 2 of the stair cases made an indeal location for family group compositions.

There is very limited scope for outdoor photographs, although I did secure a few arty compostions on Chancery Lane, by old telephone booths, post boxes, by woought iron railings etc, and, with the Law Society building in the background. The venue has sufficient room to accomodate up to 150 people for the wedding ceremony and wedding dinner, and slightly more for an evening party reception.

Overall, I enjoyed photographing at the Law Society, and it is a fantastic London wedding venue, regardless of the time of year.
