Comments from Paul Martin:

The Manor Hotel is characterful inn situated in the beautiful Berkshire village of Datchet. Partly built in 1480, this 4 Star Boutique Hotel has recently undergone a multi-million pound refurbishment program giving it a totally new look and ambience. The hotel offers everything for both the corporate and leisure traveller seeking comfort, style and luxury facilities. There are 50 individually designed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms- 5 Purpose build conference rooms- private dining rooms- fully air- Conditioned- free car parking and featuring the black olive Restaurant and bar and the polo lounge.

I recently ejoyed the opportunity of photographing a wedding reception and dinner at the Manor Hotel. The Village green at the front, provided a suitable location for undertaking bride and groom portraits, as well as various group compostions of family and friends. The benches were very suitable props, and the characterful terraced cottages on the green gave a pleasing backdrop to the photographs. The River Thames is a mere 5 minute walk up the High Street is also a great situation for intimate bride & groom portraits.

Indoors, the lighting in conservatory and private terrace, was adequate to enable me to capture some informal shots of guests during the drinks reception. The Polo banqueting room was equally pleasing to work in. Here, my coverage culminated with the taking individual table shots of geusts.

Overall, the Manor Hotel is good location for a wedding receptions and wedding photography in Windsor. However, the opportunities for creative and varied wedding photography is limited. Hence, purely from a photographic perspective, it is my belief that this venue is better suited to small wedding receptions.
