Comments from Paul Martin:
The Waterside Inn is situated at the end of a picturesque road in Bray, a 16th Century village on the banks of the River Thames. (Bray is located 2 minutes from the M4 motorway, 20 minutes from Heathrow and 45 minutes from London.) The tranquil location is the perfect setting for a world-class culinary experience or a romantic weekend away from the city. Michel Roux’s celebrated three star Michelin restaurant is the ultimate riverside dining experience. Apart from the fabulous cuisine, the riverside setting and the immaculate service you can make your evening extra special by staying at Cliveden House Hotel, just a half mile upstream, and arrive in style on one of their beautiful launches. From the moment you arrive you will experience the impeccable service and luxurious surroundings that make The Waterside Inn a true haven on the River Thames.

The Waterside Inn is perfect for small business meetings, intimate private parties or weddings. Guests of River Cottage have full use of the drawing room and dining room for their gathering. Both rooms are furnished with antiques and paintings from Michel Roux’s private collection giving a very personal and feel to the cottage. On a summer’s day step through the double opening doors from the dining room into the private courtyard garden, designed by Stephen Woodhams. Even on a winter’s night, the garden lights play into the trees tricking one into believing that it is as warm and welcoming outside as it is in the dining room.

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity of photographing a small wedding ceremony at the Waterside Inn. The situation provided a great location for informal and creative photographs, particularly of the bride and groom on the terrace by the river, in the tranquil setting. The characterful street with old cottages also provided a suitable situation for pleasing photographs. As alluded to above, there is a small private function room, making this venue is only suitable for small wedding ceremonies (maximum 18 people).

Needless to say, the Waterside Inn in Bray, is a fantastic venue for a small family gathering and for small wedding parties. The photo taking opportunties are unique and memorable.
